Education and Community
Learning good habits
Schemes that help local school children and communities learn how to tackle recycling and take more responsibility for their environment can prove to be invaluable lessons for the future – and help the drive to improve the region’s recycling record.
Members of The Merseyside and Halton Waste Partnership (MHWP) run a number of school visits and other activities for youngsters and community groups to find out more about recycling across the region.
Many of the MHWP’s sites also have their own visitor education centres and some partners have signed up to ‘Waste Watch’ – a national schools’ project which shares ideas and examples of best practice www.wastewatch.org.uk.
