Recycle campaign hits the high street

The crusade to get Merseysiders to recycle more and throw away less will reach the High Street next week.
Merseyside Waste Disposal Authority (MWDA) will target half term shoppers with messages designed to reduce food waste and promote their new Recycling Discovery Centres at the region’s major recycling centres.
Carl Beer, MWDA Chief Executive, said: “We spent much of the summer targeting families at various food festivals around the region and we’re stepping up our efforts to drive home some vital recycling messages over half term by targeting Liverpool One shoppers.”
The Authority’s exhibition in Liverpool One will promote the Love Food Hate Waste Campaign. As well as free information and recipe cards designed to help families use up leftover food, there will be giveaways for visitors completing surveys at the stand.
The MWDA stand will be outside the John Lewis store from Monday 24th October until Sunday 30th October.
Carl continues: “We hope everyone in the area during half term week will come along, get some tips on how to reduce food bills and find out about opportunities to see first hand how the whole recycling process works.”
